Singapore Airlines Operate One Off A350 Flight to Perth
Published Tuesday 3rd of January, 2017
Singapore Airlines is set to fly its Airbus A350-900 to Perth in a one off flight to commemorate its 50th anniversary on the route. Aviation enthusiasts across Perth were quick to jump on the news, as it would be the third visit of this aircraft type to Perth. The first A350 arrival took place on the 10th of August 2014, when Airbus visited Perth while conducting route proving tests. The second A350 to land was when Qatar Airways flight QR916 from Adelaide to Doha had a medical diversion to Perth. Although Singapore Airlines is yet to make an official statement, their website clearly mentions that SQ 213/226 on the 5th of April will be operated by the A350-900 rather than the usual Boeing 777-200.

In light of this commemorative flight, I've booked SQ213 from Singapore to Perth. This would make it my first time flying on an A350 and the first time on SQ's 'New Business Class'. Stay tuned for the trip report in the coming months!
