Qantas has announced further details on the highly anticipated Perth to London route. The first flight will depart Perth International Airport on Saturday, 24th of March at 6:50pm next year, arriving at London’s Heathrow Airport at 5:10am the following day. The demand for the inaugural flight is expected to be high when it goes on sale later today and I’m certain it will be 100% full. Travellers flying on the 18 hour direct flight will be paying a‘'highly competitive’ rate as stated by several travel agents.

The Qantas 787 Dreamliner will seat 236 passengers across three classes and will be utilized on some of Qantas’ longest haul flights. This aircraft will replace a number of aging Boeing 747-400’s towards the end of the year as Qantas expects the first Dreamliner to be delivered in October.
The Business class seats on the Dreamliner will be the same as the new seats found on the airlines’ Airbus A330’s, with the added feature of an adjustable divider between seats. These seats convert into a fully flat bed and the 1-2-1 layout will offer direct aisle access for all passengers at the pointy end of the aircraft.
The Premium economy seats, that have been completely redesigned, boast a 10 percent increase in width and a greater recline than the current premium economy product. The new premium economy cabin, which will debut on the 787, will feature 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout.
Qantas has added an extra inch of legroom on its 787 in comparison to the airlines’ A380 superjumbo Economy class. The Dreamliner will have 166 Economy seats arranged in a 3-3-3 layout. An iPad/tablet stand is also built into each seat.
